New Automatic Winder at our Windsbach Site

The HELUKABEL production site in Windsbach, Germany has recently commissioned a new automatic winder. With this investment in state-of-the-art machinery, the plant is sending a clear signal for continuous development and automation – with the aim of further optimising quality, delivery times and service for our customers.

The automatic winder takes over the rewinding of single wires and thin, multi-core cables from machine reels onto rings and spools. This is followed by packaging – either sealed or in foil – and automatic palletising of the products.

“The new technology has enabled us to more than double the winding speed and automate the packaging process – with half the number of staff,” explains Herbert Mehl, Production Manager at the Windsbach site. “Our employees are relieved of this physically demanding work and can concentrate more on other tasks – a noticeable improvement in terms of ergonomics and occupational safety.”

The introduction of the automatic winder is a further step towards making our manufacturing processes fit for the future. “With the new system, we are investing in efficiency and quality – and thus also in the competitiveness of our site,” emphasises Mehl. The Windsbach plant thus remains a strong component within the HELUKABEL Group – efficient, flexible and customer-oriented.
